The Museum for Object Research is an evolving umbrella project, originated by Sonia Boué.
How did MfOR begin?
Inspired by family collections, including objects such as my grandmother’s handbag, I created MfOR on the a-n blog site in 2014, . The idea was to create an interactive resource for artists who work with objects, and so a community of artist contributors was formed. My concept was of the museum as a personal construction.
WEBworks.
In 2016 I received a diagnosis of autism, and in 2017, MfOR received research and development support from Arts Council England. The Museum now houses a pioneering autistic-led project to research autistic art professionalism, and support neurodivergent artists. WEBworks was born.
Neither Use Nor Ornament #NUNO
The NUNO project is a new Arts Council England funded project, which brings together our two artist networks. MfOR and WEBworks artists will present works in a joint exhibition programme in Spring 2019.
